The GUI is of course, the most important aspect of a program on the user end.
Suggestions for the GUI can be posted here and will be thought about.

edit -- for those who dont know, MilkyEditor is a new SMG2 editor being written in C#, which aims to be able to easily add zones and all that nonsense whitehole was never able to do

I would prefer a dark GUI ~#303030 with the usual icons (e.g. floppydisk for saving and so on) being white.

Shall the program have several menus and windows like Whitehole with it's BCSV editor?

I'm not talking about the colors, though. I'm mostly focusing on where what widgets will be (ie scenario editor, etc)

Imagine if we had drag and drop, like in Mario Maker.

You select a toolbar of favorite objects, it pops up in the top of the window. Then you drag and drop your object. This is useful if you want to add a lot of objects, or are using a palette for a level.

I also NEED copy paste. It is a very useful feature, and helps build levels easier.

I think we should have some sort of customizable keybinding system (bind BACKSPACE to Delete Object, G to move object, SHIFT+A to add object, etc).

What do you think?

You could store the objects in DouBOLDash's way. Each object category gets its own tabbed pane.

version 5a3cf85 has been released, with a debug build. doesn't support that much, just posting to let you guys know so you can try to crash it (and fix bugs)

Nice. I just messed around with it for a bit and already I can see that it's a powerful tool. Combined with Whitehole, I feel like Galaxy hacking will be simpler and possible to do more things.

Ah, okay. I only said that because I didn't see a 3D viewer, although obviously this is a very early version, so I would imagine that'll come in the future.

I mean, you could implement 3d view the 'easier way'. You could just make it render cubes like whitehole renders unknown objects. This will be 'simpler' to integrate as all it has to do is check what objects are there, and not actually look through the ARCS to find the models to render.

Edit: This would be amazing: make it so you can directly import .obj files directly into Milky then it 'automatically' makes it the .arc with all the stuff thats needed. You can select what kind of an object it is: SimpleMapObj, DemoObj or AreaObj, and you can import scrolling textures into it and so on.
