I can't find anything about SMG1. Mostly looking for level editing and game changing. Why does nobody try to do stuff with that game anymore? It's all SMG2 now! ;-; I know there's that big section here with SMG1 items and models, but there isn't much about changing the game. Is it similar to SMG2 editing?

The short answer is SMG1 has a much more complicated filesystem and level structure and it's very limitted compared to SMG2. It's not worth it.

Right. If you really must hack the first game, then Whitehole is probably the best bet, but other than that, there aren't many tools for the first game. SMG2 is a lot more efficient. You can always try to import objects from the first game into the second, but that's easier said than done.

There are archived forums on Kuribo64 which might interest you in that case.
