I've already talked about the use and effects of SW_PARAM (see Switches ). After some testing, I've finally figured out the use of the ParamScale setting.

If activated and assigned to any object, the movement speed will be recalculated and changed.

A floating point value that is used to calculate the movement speed of objects when the assigned SW_PARAM switch is activated. Very few objects in SMG2 make use of this parameter - particularly in Space Storm Galaxy - but most objects have it set to its default value 1.0.
This simple and basic formula is used to calculate the movement speed:
newSpeed = paramScale * movementSpeed
As we can see here, the speed direction is reversed if the ParamScale value is negative.
