I open up Whitehole and add a sling star. I then try to add a path, but it says it isn't supported. According to the program, I am using v1.4.2.3

What do I do?

How do you add new music to Mario Galaxy (2) and make it play in certain galaxies?

For example, I want to make Cloudy Court Galaxy Mission 1 play its original music, and give Mission 2 the Gusty Garden music from Galaxy 1.

Also, after making the changes to the files, how to make all these files one iso again?
EVERY tutorial about Whitehole doesn't even mention this.

EDIT: I think this deserves its own thread, as it's more of a process than just simply clicking on a few buttons.

EDIT2: I have found out you can play the extracted iso with Dolphin, but it seems you need some main.dol file or something?

How do I add a new layer to a scenario?
Open the level you want to edit's ScenarioData in Whitehole's BCSV editor. On the left side, you'll see the Scenario number. Move along the row to the hashes for each zone in the galaxy. (Everything past LuigiModeTimer and before [D6C80400]). The numbers in the columns represent the layers active in each scenario. Ex: 0 means only "Common" works. 1 means "Common" and "LayerA".

For changing music, you are on the right path. Just change the entry in BgmIdName to the name of whatever music you want to change. Though I don't believe all of SMG1's music is in SMG2. You could get the SMG1 ISO or dump the disc, and get the .ast files from it. They go in your AudioRes/Stream folder. The number on the file name of the .ast replaces the corresponding ID of a music file from SMG2. For instance, "SMG2_galaxy04_strm.ast" would replace Flip-Swap's music, since its ID is 04.

So I was pretty close. I have extracted the SMG1 iso and put all ast files into the SMG2 Stream folder. Then, in the BCSV editor, I changed (as a test) the listed song in Boo Moon Galaxy (GhostConveyorGalaxy) from its original SMW remix to the Ghost Galaxy theme from SMG1:

Is this all you need to do for music editing? I notice that the names in BgmIdName don't exactly correspond with the .ast filenames. For example, SMG1's ghost theme is 'SMG_galaxy06_strm.ast', while I changed the BgmIdName to 'MBGM_SMG_GALAXY_06'. The original SMG2 ghost theme was:
SMG2_galaxy11_strm.ast, but the BgmIdName was ........... 'MBGM_SMG2_GALAXY_11'.

Also, how to compress the extracted files or just play the loose files with Dolphin?

Whenever I add a new layer, Whitehole wont load the level, it gets stuck on "Prerendering Galaxy, please wait."
The layer changes because when I click on the scenario I see that the layer is what I want it to be.

That's because the layer settings in the Scenario file tell the game which layers have to be loaded. It doesn't add a new layer, actually. This means you'll have to add new files manually. This is a pain to do and a little bit hard to explain. I thought about creating a small little program or addition to Whitehole which allows you to add new layers.

No, we can't. This needs to be investigated. We have already experimented with a lot of stuff, including the SystemDataTable, but it won't work.

sooo.. i wanna add spherical planet to RedBlueExGalaxy, but i cant get the camera area to work. I copied all parameters from SkateHolePlanet in StarCreekGalaxy. Do i need to edit some BCSV?

You have to add a CameraArea and point it to the entry in the camera parameter file.

You need to use Riivolution. Before you start with Wii modding, I advise you to learn the basics of Riivolution.

I was able to get six normal Power Stars in a galaxy by adding more slots in the ScenarioName.msbt and changing the field in GalaxyScenario.arc from Green to Normal. But on the star select screen, the fourth, fifth, and sixth stars are all overlapping where the fifth star theoretically should be. Is there a way to fix this?
